We are excited to welcome Tim Wade and Pastor Dave Browning as our featured guests!

Tim Wade was born in Missouri, but grew up in the central valley of California where he learned to fly fish on the fabled Kern and Kings Rivers. After leaving California in 1978 to consult for major oil companies around the US and other countries, Tim had the opportunity to have a home base anywhere he wanted, so he chose Cody. WY, in October 1981. Tim’s business travels before and after moving to Cody exposed him to salmon, steelhead and saltwater fly fishing which Tim continued to do throughout his career as Owner/Outfitter at North Fork Anglers.

After a few years in Cody, his flyfishing background and knowledge of the sport overcame his consulting obligations. He had to make a decision about which job brought the most satisfaction regardless of financial return.

So, in 1984, Tim founded North Fork Fly and Tackle as a mail order wholesale and retail business with guiding in the Cody/Yellowstone area a secondary sideline to that business. Tim also taught Entomology and Fly Tying at Northwest College in Powell and also for Adult Education classes at Cody High School.

These endeavors led to opening a bona fide fly shop, guide and outfitter business in downtown Cody in 1987 called North Fork Fly and Tackle. That name shortened to North Fork Anglers in 1990. Since 1984 until 2023, Tim and his flyfishing business became known worldwide.

Tim has been extremely blessed to have been featured on many flyfishing TV shows, featured in books and magazines and also hosting a radio show with NFL footballer (49’ers and Patriots) Russ Francis called Forever West Outdoors.

Tim has also written quite a few articles regarding  the fly fishing opportunities around Cody and inside Yellowstone Park in outdoor publications. He has also had a weekly opinion column in the Cody Enterprise since 1987 called Streamside.

Tim has been married to his wife Claudia for 33 years and has two beautiful married daughters. Kristin and Adrienne, who also like to flyfish with Dad when they make it back to Cody in the summer months. His only granddaughter, Kennedy, is also a fly fisher as well as a budding rodeo queen.

Tim sold North Fork Anglers in 2023 to one of his long time guides and fly shop employee, Blair Van Antwerp. He is now semi-retired and teaches fly tying for Cody Middle Schoolers and still writes his weekly opinion column.
